Train

An online trainer from the Mozgotren website collection, aimed at developing working and visual memory, as well as logical thinking. The main character of the game is a chess knight, which makes its characteristic moves across a chessboard that you must memorize and replicate.

What the “Knight’s Move” exercise trains

Like all exercises in this section, this mind trainer targets multiple systems, providing a comprehensive load.

Attention – the chess piece makes several consecutive moves at a set speed, and you must accurately memorize and replicate them in the same sequence. With limited time to memorize the moves, focusing on the playing field is crucial.

Visual memory – You’ll need to memorize specific cells on the playing field used by the knight for its path. The chessboard is large, and identifying a few specific squares among many is not always easy, especially if move highlighting is disabled.

Logical thinking – sometimes, even if you don’t precisely recall a move but understand the direction, you can deduce the correct cell using logic, as the knight always moves in an L-shape.

Game rules

Before starting, adjust the trainer’s difficulty, primarily the game speed, which can be slow, medium, or fast. This parameter determines the time allotted for memorizing each move. Faster speeds increase difficulty.

No highlighting – a minor complication that, when enabled, stops the playing field cells from being highlighted in green, making them harder to memorize as they blend with the others.

After the game starts, the knight makes several moves and returns to its starting position. You must replicate its moves in the same sequence by clicking the appropriate cells.

With each correct answer, the game level increases, and so does the number of moves.

Scoring

The formula for scoring points for a correct answer is as follows:

Your total points + DC*Level

DC – difficulty coefficient, which depends on the difficulty settings chosen before the test. You can see this number in the top-left corner of the playing field. Increasing the difficulty settings raises the difficulty coefficient.

Level – a variable value that starts at a minimum at the beginning of the training and increases by one position with each correct answer. An incorrect answer lowers the level by one position.

The formula for deducting points for an incorrect answer is as follows:

Your total points – (DC*Level)/2

The total points never go into negative values.

Multiplayer

This is a great opportunity to invite one or two opponents and hold a real-time competition. The player selects all difficulty settings and then shares the multiplayer game link by copying it or clicking one of the social media icons below.

The competition can start once all participants confirm their readiness.

The playing field with the knight’s moves refreshes individually for each participant, and each player provides their answers, earning an individual difficulty level. Victory is determined by points.

The number of points earned by a player changes color: green indicates that the player is leading, while red suggests insufficient points for victory. During the competition, you can observe your opponent’s progress in real-time. The mozgotren.ru platform allows competitions with up to three opponents simultaneously.
