«Neuro-Sector» on Mozgotren.com is a fractions mental-arithmetic trainer styled as a neural network: input circle-neurons glow at the top, each filled with a sector showing a fraction (¼, ½ or full), a hidden layer of the same sectors sits in the middle, and a pulsing yellow output neuron with a «?» waits at the bottom. Run the fractions along the arrows and pick the final fraction from four answer buttons.

Idea: fractions inside a neural network

The trainer blends mental arithmetic with fractions and the visual logic of a neural network — the signal flows along the arrows and is summed inside the next-layer neurons. You estimate each circle's fraction by eye from its filled sector, then add the values in your head. A dark canvas, neon glow and a scanning line set a neural-lab mood.

Gameplay

Every round draws a fresh network. Fractions come from the set ½, ¼ and whole (=1) — exactly which depends on the level and the options. Arrows run only between adjacent layers: input → hidden neuron → output. After you click an answer the correct fraction flashes green, a mistake — red, and the whole panel briefly pulses or shakes.

Hidden neurons with their own value

The key twist. Each hidden neuron has its own fraction (its sector) and also receives fractions along incoming arrows. Its value = own fraction + the sum of incoming fractions. The output neuron sums the values of all hidden neurons. Early levels have no hidden layer, so the inputs add up straight into the output.

Difficulty progression (1–9)

Level 1: 2 inputs, no hidden layer, only the ½ fraction — straight addition. Level 2: 3 inputs, the whole (=1) is added. Levels 3–5: a hidden layer appears (2 neurons), 2–4 inputs. Levels 6–7: 4–5 inputs and 3 hidden neurons. Levels 8–9: 5 inputs and 4–5 hidden neurons — up to 10 neurons and the most connection arrows at the finish. A correct answer raises the level, a mistake lowers it.

Trainer options

Negative — some input circles turn red and are subtracted (there is always at least one «plus» and one «minus»), so the total may go negative. Quarters ¼ — the ¼ fraction joins the set: thinner sectors, finer counting. Weights ×2 — one or two arrows gain a ×2 multiplier with a golden badge, doubling the contribution along that path.

What it trains

Mental arithmetic with fractions — fast addition of fractions, including subtraction and doubling. Visual estimation — similar sectors (½ vs ¼) must be told apart by eye. Working memory — you hold the hidden-neuron values while computing the output. Focus — the eye follows the arrows so you don't miss a heavy connection.

Scoring

Your total + DC × Level for a correct answer; − (DC × Level) / 2 for a mistake. DC is the difficulty coefficient — it depends on the chosen options and is shown in the trainer UI. The total never goes negative.
